Earth Synchronicity

A doorway into the te ao tūroa (the natural world) and Ira atua (spirit realm), Earth Synchronicity provides a passage into a deeper understanding of the world around us. Expressed through a vertical field of colour drawn from the natural world, I blend forest greens, ocean hues, and soft earth tones to calm your senses so the mind can reflect on the natural world around us that is both physical and spiritual, form and feeling. Moving into what is felt and remembered, this experience brings together the idea that the physical and spiritual are not separate but co-existing, and as you sit with the painting, the stillness invites pause, to create harmony in the space of place, presence, and being.

The vertical brush strokes echo the movement of water and immerse the space like a forest, creating an energy that flows between realms. Communicating the understanding that land holds memory, it is what shapes us, and we must be present to connect with it, and in being, we become aware of this intangible feeling to a tangible presence.

I look to Mark Rothko and the emotional depth and spirituality of his works, in how he used colour and scale to evoke feelings beyond words as though it is an otherworldly experience. This painting becomes a quiet contemplation of lived and spiritual encounters, the gestures and shifting fields of colour emerge intuitively exploring moments of connection between the physical and spiritual world.
